MARSHALL, Ill. - Victor E. Hollingsworth, 86, of Marshall, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Ind. He was retired from the Illinois Cereal Mills in Paris.
Vic was born May 17, 1931, in Edgar County, the son of Lloyd and Lucy North Hollingsworth. He married Mary Faye Hollingsworth on Sept. 30, 1953.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Daryl Hollingsworth of Bloomington, Ind., Dale Hollingsworth of Washington, Ind.; a daughter, Darla (Brent) Hall of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, HL Hollingsworth and Harold Hollingsworth both of Marshall; a sister, Faye Baggs of Marshall; 20 grandchildren and over 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Hollingsworth, Paul Hollingsworth and Ezra Hollingsworth; and two sisters, Fairy Higginbotham and Carrie B. Ogle.
He served this nation in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Services in honor of his life will be 1 p.m. CDT Friday at Pearce Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery, with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Online contact at:
