Thelma Jeanne's Story
Thelma Jeanne Handick, 92, of Paris, Illinois (Elbridge Township), passed away on Feb. 6, 2018, in Regional Hospital, surrounded by family. She was born in Clay County on Aug. 11, 1925, to Donald Louderback and Nellie (Butt) Louderback, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Handick; and stepdaughter, Marilyn Green.
Survivors include stepchildren, Beverly (Garry) Thompson and John (Judy) Handick; and step-grandchildren, John (Jennifer) Thompson, Dr. Kristina Thompson and her fiancé Steve Scank, Laura (Denver) Hudson, Dr. Brad (Dr. Kim) Handick, Nikole Williams and James (Cortney) Green; and several great-grandchildren.
She was a former president of the Terre Haute Christian Women's Club, was a member of the Newcomers and Friends Club and a member of Nevins Christian Church in Paris, Illinois. Jeanne and Bob raised cattle together and later became known for their ostrich farm.
Services will be on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St. in Terre Haute, with visitation at noon and the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Levellie officiating.
