Shirley Maxine Sears McCartney, 93, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Union Hospital. She was born on June 28, 1923, in Blocher, the ninth of 10 children born to Hugh and Birdie (Gobin) McCartney.

She met and married Chuck Sears and started a family. Shirley was an excellent mother to her three children. She devoted her life to taking care of her family and keeping their home. Being a mother and homemaker was Shirley's passion and a great source of pride. She was member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was active in the church and enjoyed singing in the choir.
