We shared our childhoods—leaf forts, bicycling, whiffle ball, roller skating. We taught ourselves the twist on the back steps. As teenagers we marched as Coquettes with the band. I want to offer our condolences to her family. Sandi will live in my memories of a childhood where the days were long and the nights twinkled with fireflies.
