Sandra Ruth Coleman, of Terre Haute, was born June 23, 1944, in Charleston, Ky., to James Weldon and Laura Agnes (Bruce) Lynn, and passed away Aug. 18, 2017, one day after her husband.
She married Paul Thomas Coleman on Jan. 24, 1962, at Charleston Baptist Church. She graduated from Charleston High School in 1962. She was a founding member of the Sugar Creek Baptist Church, West Terre Haute, in 1967. She worked at Sam's Club in Terre Haute, but left to take care of her husband in his remaining days.
Surviving are four children, Keith (Judi) Coleman of Houston, Vicki (Ed) Joy of Pimento, Gregory (Mary Ann) Coleman of Earlysville, Va., and LTC Christopher (Laura) Coleman of Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Nicole Joy, Glen Coleman, Rachel Coleman, Marine Coleman, Matthew Coleman, Jason Coleman and Monet Coleman; one great-granddaughter, Dallas Joy; and one great-grandchild due in January 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas Coleman; parents, James Weldon Lynn and Laura Agnes (Bruce); grandson, Thomas Joy; brothers, Marion Lynn, Marlyn Lynn and Kenneth Lynn; and sisters, Betty VandenBrink, Muriel Curtright and Phyllis Dorris.
A funeral celebrating her life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Roselawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Savage officiating. Visitation will take place from noon until the time of service.
