Robert F. Taylor, 83, of Terre Haute, passed away Oct. 9, 2017, in his residence. Robert was born in Terre Haute on Feb. 27, 1934, to John Taylor and Goldie Brock Taylor. Robert worked for Home Packing Company, J.I. Case and was a bus driver for the City of Terre Haute.
He was a member of American Legion Post 340, Eagles Aerie 291, and enjoyed singing Karaoke. He had also been a Babe Ruth Baseball coach and was an Indiana University and Bobby Knight fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Mitchell Taylor; two sons, Robert Taylor of Terre Haute and William Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas. He is survived by two stepsons, Arlie J. Burris and John B. Young Jr., both of Terre Haute. He is survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Ralph Lewis, and a brother in-law, Max Mitchell. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There are no services scheduled at this time, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make contributions to Viaquest Hospice or to the charity of their choice.
