Robert L. Heidenreich, 88, of Terre Haute, died on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Union Hospital, Clinton. He was born to Waldemar William Christopher Heidenreich and Clella Mae (Fiscus) Heidenreich, on Sept. 12, 1928, in Edwardsport.
He was a graduate of ISU. In his early career, he worked as a secondary school teacher and principal in Illinois. He was a woodworker who built several homes and fine pieces of furniture. Robert was an antique car enthusiast, and sported numerous trophies from winning participation in the Newport Hill Climb. He was a voracious and lifelong reader. Robert was a steadfast "Eisenhower" Republican, but during the 2016 election was compelled to switch parties out of deep concern for his country.
He is survived by Martha Clary; daughter, Janell Heidenreich of Eugene, Ore., Jeannine Heidenreich of Bellingham, Wash., (children Heath, Laci and Alexandra) and Julie (Williams) Miller of Columbus, Ind., (children Ariane, Ricky, Todd, Wyatt).
He was preceded in death by Patricia Heidenreich; and Todd Williams.
He was a singular man who will be much missed.
