Pauline Parker, 90, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in her son's home, surrounded by family. She was born May 12, 1927, at Oaktown, Ind., to William VanPatten and Jean Joyce VanPatten.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Parker, in 1985. Survivors include two sons, Dennis L. Parker and his wife Darlene, and Duane Parker, all of West Terre Haute; a daughter-in-law, Sarah Parker and her daughters Anna Pine (Dale) and Debbie Thomas; 11 grandchildren, Tammy Hurst (Jim), Mike Parker (Beth), Steve and Jennifer Parker, Bill Parker (Kim), Dennis E. Parker (Jenena), John Paul Parker, Bryan Parker (Robin), Douglas Parker, Jason Parker, Michelle Smith (Steve) and Jonie Hunter; 34 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a son, John R. Parker; a special friend, Ted Branson; a step-grandson, Bryan Wallace; and three sisters.
Pauline loved being with her family, playing euchre and singing karaoke, and was known to play the part of Marie Lauveau. She loved life, nature and being outdoors, fishing, swimming and mushroom hunting. Pauline was known for her quick wit and her friendliness to everyone and her no-bake cookies!
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Saturday.
