Pauline DeLattre, 82, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born June 5, 1935, in Lyford, to William Jackson Childress and Florence Stultz Childress.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Alfred Francis DeLattre Sr.; five daughters, Sherri Plant, Theresa M. Hargis, LeAnn Case (Mike), Markana Hamm, and Connie Heien (Mike); a son, Alfred DeLattre Jr. and his wife Margaret; a sister, Frances Cottrell (Andy); three brothers, Tom Childress, George Childress (Sandy), and Roger Childress; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rick Hargis; two grandsons, Ronnie Hamm and Teddy LeClercq; and a sister, Mary Ann Childress.
She was a member of the Sandford Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, baking cakes and candies, and listening to gospel music. She was an avid doll collector. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastors Larry Snyder and Chuck Cooley officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to New Goshen Fire Department.
