Paul E. Stoner Jr., 77, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at Methodist Hospital. He was born on July 13, 1940, in Terre Haute to Paul E. Stoner and Nelda M. Warburton Stoner.
Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Copeland Stoner; two children, Kristina Gomolisky and husband Jesse, Brian Stoner and wife Rhonda; two grandchildren, Natasha Stoner and Treyton Stoner; one great-granddaughter, Kinley McMurray, all from Terre Haute; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Stoner Robbins; an infant son; and a great-granddaughter, Briley Stoner.
Paul was a 1959 graduate of Garfield High School and attended Indiana State University. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1959 to 1965 and attained the rank of staff sergeant E-6. He was an assistant cashier and security officer at the Indiana State Bank of Terre Haute for nine years. He retired from Eli Lilly and Company-Clinton Laboratories in 2000 after 29 years. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, woodcarving, and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Paul will be laid to rest with a memorial service to be held at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park.
