Paul Levi Leturgez, 61, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday May 27, 2017, in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Terre Haute, on Aug. 20, 1955, to Gabriel Leturgez and Lena May Philpott Leturgez.
Paul was a graduate of West Vigo High School. He served 38 years in the United States Army and held a civilian position as unit administrator at the Terre Haute Army Reserve Center for 20 years. He retired in 2015 and was recently presented the Commanders Award For Civilian Service.
Paul was a member of the Riley American Legion. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and his beloved dogs, Indy and Jake. Most importantly, Paul was proud to be called "Grandpa".
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Robert Leturgez, Michael Leturgez, Wilma Lichti and Phyllis McNeeley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mindy Cash Leturgez, whom he married July 1, 1994. He is survived by one son, Bill Leturgez (Stacie) of Michigan; one daughter, Sherry Edington (Adam) of New Goshen; and two stepsons, Matt Hendrickson (Sarah) and Marc Hendrickson, all of Terre Haute. He is survived by siblings, Gerald (Tony) Leturgez (Pat) of Terre Haute, Gabriella Norton (Bill) of Terre Haute, Freddie Leturgez (Brenda) of Terre Haute, Deborah Stevens (Joseph) of Terre Haute, Joseph Leturgez (Regina) of Terre Haute, Larry Leturgez (Linda) of New York and Lowell (Knock) Leturgez (Gloria Jean) of Terre Haute. He also is survived by his mother-in-law, Nancy Frye (Harlan) of Terre Haute; stepfather-in-law, Monte Cash and his wife Dee of Pinellas Park, Fla.; sister-in-law, Marla Flowers (Randy) of Terre Haute; and brother-in-law, Dave McNeely of Kentucky. Four grandchildren survive, Shelby Edington, Skyler Morgan, Aaron Edington and Brendon Leturgez; and 39 nieces and nephews.
Services are Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., Terre Haute. Sister Betty Hopf and Pastor Jeff Lee will be officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted at Roselawn Memorial Park. "Paul Bearers" include, Adam Edington, Bill Leturgez, Aaron Edington, Brendon Leturgez, Kyle DeHart, Derek DeHart, Matt Hendrickson and Marc Hendrickson. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to the Hux Cancer Center Foundation, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at:
