Paul Thomas Coleman, of Terre Haute, was born May 10, 1937, in Lawrenceville, Ill., to Henry Anson and Helen Marie (Stivers) Coleman, and suddenly passed on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017. He married Sandra Ruth Lynn on Jan. 24, 1962, in Charleston, Ky.
He graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1956, and proudly served in the U.S. Army for seven years. He retired from C. F. Industries in 1989, as an Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers International Union (OCAW) member and attended Sugar Creek Baptist Church located in West Terre Haute.
Surviving are four children, Keith (Judi) Coleman of Houston, Vicki (Ed) Joy of Pimento, Gregory (Mary Ann) Coleman of Earlysville, Va., and LTC Christopher (Laura) Coleman of Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Nicole Joy, Glen Coleman, Rachel Coleman, Marine Coleman, Matthew Coleman, Jason Coleman and Monet Coleman; one great-granddaughter, Dallas Joy; and one great-grandchild due in January 2018; brothers, Bill, Mike, and Steve; and sisters, Debbie McKelvey and Cathy Skinner.
He was preceded in death by parents, Henry Anson Coleman and Helen Marie (Stivers); grandson, Thomas Joy; brothers, John, David, Jerry, Terry and Gary; and sisters, Dora Prouse and Lynn Anton.
A funeral celebrating his life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Roselawn Funeral Home, Terre Haute, with Pastor Tom Savage officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors provided by American Legion Post 104.
