Opal W. Turner


Opal W. Turner, 90, of Marshall, Illinois passed away 8:20 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2019 in the Burnsides Community Care Center at Marshall.
Opal was born Jan. 5, 1929 in the Melrose area of Clark County, Illinois, the daughter of Omer and Ruth Shotts Medsker. She married Virgil R. Turner on April 17, 1947 at Marshall and he preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 2008. She was also preceded in death by siblings Wanda Osborn, William Medsker and Marilyn Bush, and one great-grandchild.
Surviving are a daughter, Aloha (Bart) Schanuel of Port Saint Lucie, FL; a son, Clifford (Jonni) Turner of Marshall; a sister, Mary Batson of Marshall; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services in honor of her life will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Medsker Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Medsker Cemetery Association. pearcefuneralservices.com
