Our father, Norman Eugene "Gene" Stultz, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2018. He was the eldest son of Marie Mae Morris Stultz and James Perry Stultz, having one brother and three sisters: Daisy Mae Stultz Fuller (deceased), Renee Stultz (deceased), James Buddy Stultz, and Elizabeth Liz Stultz Jefferies.
Elinor Jane Davies Stultz (deceased) was his wife of 50+ years. They had three children, Jane Anne Stultz Anderson (Jerry), Christopher Eugene Stultz (Pam), and Margaret Alexandra Stultz (Allen). His four grandchildren are his pride and joy: Beth Anne Pychinka (Brian Dockter), Suzanne Stultz, (Robby), Christopher Matthew Stultz, and Jason Alexander Lalk (Stephanie Pazmino-fiancee). Julian and Ryder Eugene Dockter, and Zoey, Tyler, and Gracie Sharp are his great-grandchildren. Dad had many nieces and nephews, who he enjoyed seeing at the Stultz Family Reunions.
Dad graduated from Concannon High School and served in the Navy in WWII and in the Korean War. Dad proudly served as a Med-tech. Prior to serving in the Armed Forces, Dad worked in the Pennsylvania Railroad yards. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, he started work toward a BS degree at Indiana State University. He graduated from ISU with a BS in Industrial Ed. and Physical Ed. and earned a MS degree and EdS in Education with a principal's certificate. Dad taught for the Vigo County School Corporation at Consolidated, Concannon Jr. High, and West Vigo Jr. High. He retired after 40 years of service.
Dad was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church of Christ and served as a deacon. He loved his church and was the oldest living member. Dad also was a member of the West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge No. 687 F&AM; and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite (Rose Croix) in Terre Haute.
Dad was an excellent carpenter and builder as he built his home in RR 15 West Terre Haute. He worked on many projects for church and family. He loved animals especially Molly Girl and Big Al. He was a selfless person who was always thinking about and doing for others. He was a fine man.
