Naomi L. Weir, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, in Springhill Village in Terre Haute. Naomi was born March 28, 1928, to William P. Stout and Grace Neal Stout in Hymera. Naomi was raised by Alvie and Velva Deckard.
Naomi was a homemaker most of her life but had worked at Packard Shirt Company and CBS until the time the company closed. She was a member of Christ Temple Church and will be remembered as a wonderful mother and an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Carter Madsen; and her husband of 62 years, whom she married Oct. 30, 1946, the Rev. Harley Weir, who passed away Jan. 7, 2009. Naomi was one of 12 children who all preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Shelia Weir of Terre Haute, two sons, Dennis Weir and his wife Vicky of Greencastle and Gary Weir and his wife Jennifer of Terre Haute. She is survived by grandchildren; Jonathan Weir and his wife Robin of Greencastle, Tonia Dibble and her husband Bill of Greencastle, Heidi Madsen and her husband Curtis of Brazil, and Olivia Weir of Terre Haute. Great-grandchildren survive, Kaitlyn Dibble of Greencastle, Lauren Dibble of Greencastle, Jeremiah Weir of Greencastle, Ashlynn Madsen of Brazil, and Hudson Madsen also of Brazil. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services are Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Christ Temple Church, 2311 Locust St., Terre Haute, IN., 47807. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m., and from noon until service time on Thursday, all at the church. The Rev. Merrill Weir Jr. will be officiating.
