SHELBURN -Max Eugene Brand, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 21, 2017. He was born in Clay County, on Aug. 5, 1926, and married Dorothy Olene Fulk on Dec. 11, 1948, in a candlelight ceremony in the First Methodist Church in Linton. They lived in Bowling Green and most recently Shelburn.
In addition to his family, he enjoyed his lifelong passion of farming, NASCAR and his beloved beagle, Butchie. He will be fondly remembered and missed by many.
He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Arminta (Doug) Inbody of Carmel; son, Drew (Carol) Brand of Farmersburg; granddaughter, Jessica (Brian) Lindvahl of Fishers; grandson, Evan (Kylee) Brand of Shelburn. He also leaves behind five great-grandsons, Frederick Bryar, Max Ledger and Evan Sawyor Brand, and Ryker and Davin Lindvahl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Raymond and Laura Alice (Smith) Brand; and a brother, Forrest E. Brand.
Officiating at private chapel and graveside services was the Rev. Dick Smith of Shiloh Assembly of God. Interment was at the Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, in Clay County. Arrangements were handled by Holmes Memorial Chapel.
