Mary Lou Shedd Yoho of Terre Haute passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born Jan.10, 1920, in Bicknell, to Walter D. Shedd and Lora B. Shedd. She graduated from Gerstmeyer High School and Indiana State University. She married Lewis W. Yoho in 1943.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lewis, son Greg, both in 2002; and sister, Rebecca Bough in 2013.
She was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Indiana State University Wives Club. Mary Lou taught Home Economics and English at Washington High School in Washington, Ind. She was a nutrition instructor in the School of Practical Nursing when it was part of the Vigo County School System. In later years, she joined her husband in the antiques business.
She is survived by her daughter, Lora Sapp, of Grabill; daughter-in-law, Jean Yoho Penry (John) of Terre Haute; a grandson, Steven Sapp (Sarah) of Fort Wayne; a granddaughter, Lindsay Sapp Brown (Josh) of Greenville, N.C.; and great-granddaughters, Ashlee, Piper, Jocelyn, and a great-grandchild due in two weeks!
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, with the Rev. David Rockhill officiating. Mary Lou will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the L.W. Yoho Scholarship fund at ISU Foundation or to Maple Avenue United Methodist Church.
