Mary's Story

Mary Catherine White, 78, passed away May 19, 2017, in her home at 3:10 p.m. surrounded by family. She was born Nov. 30, 1938, to Wilbur Ware and Veronica Welch Ware, in Indianapolis.
She was a very involved member of the Maple Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a past president of the United Methodist Women's Association. She was a really sweet woman, a giver; she helped raise her granddaughters. She and her husband Jerry, shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. She was very involved in the Girl Scouts, and was a recognized Brownie Leader. Mary was not a very tall individual, and was the receiver of many 'short' jokes.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Kelly Enright and her husband Tim; granddaughters, Amanda Harris and Joelle Batchelor; five extended grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Chance, Skyelar, and Bentley Batchelor; five extended great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., Terre Haute. Services for Mary will be Friday, May 26, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor David Rockhill will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences can be made at:
