PARIS, Ill. - Mary Ruth Strow, 83, of Paris, passed away at 8:52 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at her residence. She was a devoted homemaker, and had also worked at the former Zenith Co. and Goeding Shoe Factory of Paris. She was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Edgar County, the daughter of the late Forrest and Gladys (Moody) Willoughby. She married Harold Eugene Strow on Dec. 28, 1952, in Redmon, Ill. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2008.
Survivors include four children, Pam (Curt) Troxel, Linda D. Strow, Vickie (Gary) Blair, and Brian Strow; two brothers, Wayne and Paul Willoughby; two sisters, Christine Nickles and Martha Willoughby, all of Paris; seven grandchildren, Amy (Greg) Sabens of Louisville, Ky., Jill (Chris) Riley of Mooresville, Ind., David Troxel of Paris, Bridget (Josh) Goodwin of Freelandville, Ind., Melissa (Mark) Leistico of Grand Junction, Colo., Chad Whittenberg of St. Louis, and Martina Millis of Terre Haute, Ind.; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Strow.
Mrs. Strow enjoyed crocheting and reading and was a talented cook, especially at noodles and mincemeat pies.

Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. CDT Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris, with the Rev. Gary Williamson officiating.
