Mary's Story

Mary Ellen Myers, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away April 6, 2017. She was born May 20, 1925, in Terre Haute, to Frank Jenkins and Minnie (Akers) Jenkins Bennet.
She was a faithful member of the Maplewood Christian Church, she also was a member of the Twelve Points Chapter 528 Order of Eastern Star. During World War II, she volunteered with American Red Cross, later Mary was employed at the American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter as a case worker from 1964 to 1982. Mary then volunteered at Union Hospital for several years. Mary was a graduate of Wiley High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband E. Keith Myers; her parents; and a sister, Mildred Allen.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Anderson and her husband Gary; three grandchildren, Jennifer Beckstadt and her husband John, Elizabeth Helton and her husband Brian, Lori Moore and her husband Tom; four great-grandchildren, Shara Johnson, Kendra Johnson, Olivia Moore, and Thomas Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 10, 2017, at 1 p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., Terre Haute. Pastor Bernie Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, from 11 a.m. until service time.
