Mary Mandich, 81, of Avon, and formerly of Universal, died 10:03 p.m. on May 22, 2018, at IU Health West, Avon. She was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Universal, to Mike Solomon and Frances Rozina-Solomon. She married Mike Mandich on Aug. 23, 1961.
She was employed by Quaker Maid in Terre Haute, and was a loving mother. She was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike Mandich on March 11, 2011; sister, Jennie Gose; and brothers, John Solomon, Mike Solomon Jr. and Tom Solomon.
Survivors include two daughters, Doreen (Jason) Cherry and Michelle Taulman (Joey Lopez), both of Avon; granddaughter, Ava Cherry and Mariah Taulman; grandson, Travis Taulman; brother, Bob (Marilyn) Solomon of Clinton; sister-in-law, Josephine Solomon of Clinton; brother-in-law, Avery Gose of Rosedale; and many nieces and nephews.
Indianapolis visitation: Thursday, May 24, 2018, with visitation starting at 4:30 p.m. followed by services at 6 p.m. at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, 7855 Marsh Road, Indianapolis.
Clinton visitation and funeral service on Saturday, May 26, 2018, with visitation starting at 8:30 a.m. followed by services at 10 a.m. Giovanini Funeral Home, Clinton, with Father Dragan Petrovic officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Clinton. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church.
