Marjorie's Story

Text size

Marjorie Jean Snapp, 92, of Terre Haute, was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Dennison, Ill., and peacefully departed this life on Aug. 31, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
The wife of Ransom Wilson Snapp and daughter of Vern and Carrie Hutchings, she is survived by three sons, Gary Bedwell (Glenda), James Snapp (Linda), and David Snapp; a daughter, Debra Hull (Todd); grandchildren, Chris, Lindsey, Stacy, Christy, Justin, Dustin, and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Cody, Brittnay, Sierra, Ashley, Kelsie, Macie, and Dominic; and great-great-granddaughter, Ella; as well as extended family members and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband (1971); a brother, James; and two sisters, Helen and Fern.
In addition to working for Danner's and Hills, she was a devoted caregiver for many family members. She adored her grandchildren and nothing made her happier than when they came to visit. Marge loved to talk with anyone who would listen, enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and couldn't resist a great yard sale bargain.
Please join the family as they celebrate Marge's life on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, from 1 until 3 p.m. at Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute. A meal will be served at World Gospel Church at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice Care, 4529 S. 7th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
