PLANTATION, Fla. - Margaret (Peggy) Theresa Evans Gayler passed away at the age of 79 on March 29, 2017, in her home. Peggy was born in Terre Haute, Ind., to John and Catherine Evans.
She grew up with four siblings and spent her childhood as the treasured baby sister. She graduated from Gerstmeyer High School and worked as a secretary. She married Allen Gayler in February of 1960 and then became the proud mother of two boys and two girls. Peggy was a stay-at-home mom who went on to help raise her grandson. She was an avid bowler, loved word games and enjoyed attending weekly Mass at St. Gregory the Great. She was incredibly devoted to and proud of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Allen; her children, Gary Gayler, Sandra Gayler, Julie Callan (Dan) and John Gayler (Jennifer); her sister, Elizabeth McCabe; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Evans; brother-in-law, Robert Bibb; and her grandchildren, David Gayler, Delaney Callan and Cole Gayler. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine Evans; a brother, John Evans; and sisters, Mary Ann Bibb and Katherine Szakovits.
