BRAZIL - Mable Evelyn Kalber, 92, of Brazil, passed away at Exceptional Living Center of Brazil, on Jan. 8, 2018, following an extended illness. She was born March 8, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Floy Jane (Morehart) Featherston.
She worked as a waitress at several area restaurants including Blue Bonnet, Red Lobster, and Brazil 70. She also worked at Columbia Records for several years. She had been married to Riley Halstead,John Boyd and George Kalber.
Mable was an avid reader. She also enjoyed crocheting, working crosswords, playing bingo, playing slot machines, and watching NASCAR. Mable also enjoyed watching sprint cars with her companion Gilbert Williams at the Putnamville Race Track every Saturday.
In addition to her parents, Arthur and Floy Featherston, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Kalber; sisters, Goldie Robinson, Lillian Miller, Phyllis Miller, Nora Sullivan and Margaurite Featherston; a brother, Arthur "Bud" Featherston.
She is survived by four children, Darleen Jones and husband Don, Patrick Boyd, James Boyd and wife Diana, and Jackie Ward and husband Max; her companion for nearly 30 years, Gilbert Williams; a brother, Donald Featherston and wife Mary; as well as 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and extended family members.
