Luella M. Jarvis, 96, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Union Hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Terre Haute, to William Alexander and Emma (Kern) Archibald.
Luella is survived by her children, Richard Jarvis Jr. and Diane Munier (Dennis), all of Madison; grandsons, Richard Jarvis III and Grant Jarvis, both of Chesapeake, Va.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Richard Jarvis Sr.; brothers, Donald William Archibald and Richard Kern Archibald; and a sister, Barbara Cottom.
Luella graduated from Wiley High School in 1939. She was an active member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and volunteered wherever the church needed her. In her spare time, Luella liked to sew, read, and listen to music. She doted on her cat, Frisco. Most of all, Luella cherished the time she spent with her children in Madison. She had a spunky, independent nature.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Luella will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at:
