Linda Jean Davis Linda Jean Davis, 79, of Martinsville, Ill., passed away at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, Ill. She was born April 18, 1939, in Martinsville, the daughter of Ores Jean Ulrey and Linnie Muriel Catherine Rogers Ulrey.
On June 14, 1958, she married Charles Earnest Davis in Martinsville, and he passed away on Dec. 5, 2011.
Survivors include son, Rick A. Davis and wife Melodie of Philo, Ill.; daughter, Cindy S. Connelly and husband Rick of Martinsville; sons, John C. Davis and wife Angie of Sullivan, Ill., and Tony Davis and wife Suzanne of Martinsville; eight grandchildren, Alisha Lowry, Arika Davis, Brandy Arney, Mitchell Davis, Brandon Davis, Jared Davis, Allison Davis and Kaitlin Davis; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Sheila Ulrey of Martinsville; and brothers, Bill Ulrey and wife Gail of Martinsville and Roger Ulrey and wife Dorothea of Casey, Ill.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister-in-law, Sue Beabout Ulrey.
Linda was a member of the Martinsville United Methodist Church. She worked as a telephone operator in Martinsville for many years, as a waitress at numerous restaurants in Martinsville and Casey and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. CDT Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in Medsker Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
