CLINTON - Linda Kay Blackford, 74, of Clinton, passed away Christmas morning at her home, after fighting an eight-year battle with leukemia. Linda was born July 19, 1943, in Washington, Ind., to Lee Thomas Chadd and Elma Chadd (Baxter). Both precede in her death.
She is survived by her husband, Don (Donnie) Blackford. They married on Feb. 24, 1963, and were married 54 years. She is also survived by three children, James Thomas Blackford and wife Dana of Orlando, Fla., Tammy Hinkle and husband Steve of Clinton, and Connie Blackford-Jordan of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, David Chadd and wife Shirley of Columbus; one sister, Janice Chadd of Panama City Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Nikkie Hinkle and Zach Mayhew of Indianapolis, Ross Hinkle and Kenzi Cheesewright of Clinton, and Dalton Hinkle and wife Mandy of Clinton; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden Hinkle and Karter Hinkle.
Linda graduated Lockyear Business College in 1963. She was a member of the Central Christian Church. Linda's hobbies included reading, playing cards and games, loved flowers, and gardening. She also enjoyed vacationing, the beach, and living in Texas on the Mexican border, with her husband for a year. She loved her close bond with her family and friends.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Frist Funeral Home. Services will begin at 3 p.m., with Brad Baysinger officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at:
