Lee J. Tuttle was born in Terre Haute, Ind., on March 1, 1950. His family moved to Danville, Ill., in 1964, where he graduated from Danville High School in 1968. Lee was a Brother in Tennessee Gamma Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and a 1972 graduate of East Tennessee State University. Lee began his career with State Farm Insurance in Danville, and moved to Ponte Vedra, Fla., where he owned a State Farm Agency in Jacksonville Beach; retiring in 2009. Lee was a charter member of Pablo Creek Golf Club and a golf course rating panelist for Golf Digest. Lee also was Captain of Florida's NE region of panelists.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Virginia Tuttle.
He is survived by his significant other, caregiver and childhood sweetheart, Nancee Callahan; a son, Greg and his wife Annie of Ponte Vedra; four grandchildren, Noah Barker, Evan, Lyla, and Georgia Tuttle; a daughter, Maggie and her fiancé Ed Schutte of Liberty, N.Y.; two sisters, Lynn McElroy of Decatur, Ill., and Jan Tuttle of North Vernon, Ind; two nephews, Matt McElroy and wife Christine of Damien, Ill., and Joe LaHaye and wife Andrea of Alexandria, Va.; an aunt, Betty Tuttle of Terre Haute; one great-niece, Ava McElroy.
A celebration of life will be Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, from 4 until 8 p.m. at 1336 Sylvie Lane, in Ponte Vedra, FL 32081.
