Lee Carter Mardis, 62, of Brownsburg, passed away Friday, Nov. 17,2017, in IU West Hospital Avon. He was born Aug. 9, 1955, in Terre Haute, to Robert and JoAnn Mardis.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah of Brownsburg; a son, Sean of Brownsburg; two brothers, Mike Mardis and his wife Susan and Scot Mardis and his wife Gerrie, all of Terre Haute; three nephews and a neice, Matt Mardis and his wife Jessica of Tulsa, Okla., Andrew Mardis and his wife Kristin of Playa Del Rey, Calif., Kyle Mardis and his wife Kristy of Fishers, and Lauren Clampitt and her husband Michael of Putnam County.
Lee also is survived by his mother-in-law, Shirley Eckert of Jasper; sister-in-law, Laurie Schwenk and her husband Ed of Fischers; his nephews, Jason, Sam and Phil Schwenk: and a brother-in-law, Bryan Eckert and his wife Mary Ann of West Olive, Mich.
Mardis was a graduate of South Vigo High School and attended Indiana State University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was a graduate of IUPUI with a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Resources. Lee considered himself a life long learner.
He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Terre Haute.
Mardis was retired and had worked in the banking, real estate business and human resources.
A celebration of life for Lee's family and friends will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at the Rathskellar in Indianapolis. If friends desire, the family asks memorial contributions be made to Second Helping, 1121 Souhteastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46202, a charity he supported.
