Ms. Wallace was my freshman year a senior year English teacher at North Central HS, 1981 and 1984 - the finest teacher I ever had at any level. She, and her late brother Bill, were great Christians and of a human quality seen almost never in this world. I didn't receive a Christmas card this year and knew something was wrong.

I stopped this morning, 30 Dec, at her home Ebenezer UMC, and spoke to folks about her life. She was relatively well up to 2 days before her passing, a blessing compared to most. She lived a great, long Christian life and has her reward with God.

My sincere condolences to her family. I will miss Laura Belle Wallace much.

Miss Wallace taught across the hall from me at North Central from 1971-1984. She was my respected colleague, mentor, and has been a friend for these many years since. I knew when I didn't receive her yearly Christmas card, that something was wrong. RIP sweet lady.

Miss Wallace taught my English Literature class at North Central in 1980. She taught my mother and Uncles at Hymera High School back in the 1950's as well! She was a local legend and was greatly admired, respected and loved. She made a positive impact on the community and will certainly be missed.

I had Miss Wallace as my English teacher at Hymera from grades 7 thru 12. She attended not only my high school graduation, but made the trip to attend Fred's and my graduation from Indiana University. After having Miss Wallace, college English was a breeze. She truly taught to prepare you for college and life. Over the years she remembered birthdays, anniversaries, special events with little tokens of her affection. She was a dear and loving teacher and an even dearer friend. She was a true, devout Christian who influenced so very many lives. I will miss her tremendously. Heaven received a wonderful new resident.

Miss Wallace is always looking over my shoulder when I review a document or email. She reminds me of proper grammar and correct use of punctuation. She made a lifelong impact on me and I’m very grateful to have had her for a teacher! NCHS class of 1982
