Larry Arthur Marlin, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at his home. He was born on May 6, 1941, in Salisbury, to Lewis and Eloise Marlin.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Cindy Marlin of Terre Haute and Wendy Marlin-Post and husband Randy of Springhill, Fla.; special grandchildren, Willow and Briar Geeseman of Terre Haute, Heather Walker of Indianapolis and Mindy Post of Orlando, Fla.; and numerous other grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and love of his life, Susan Marlin; sister, Gay Floyd; and a grandson, Hunter Marlin.
Larry proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as a public servant for over 35 years and was a retired Vigo County Deputy Sheriff.
Larry loved to travel and he went with Cindy and his granddaughter, Willow, everywhere. He was the kindest, most generous man you could ever meet and was always willing to help anyone in need. No one could make coffee like he could, it was the best in the world. Before developing health problems later in life, Larry loved to go fishing, camping, and shooting. Larry loved to relax with a few beers and he enjoyed going to Charlies for a few cold ones and a Tweety Burger with his daughter, Cindy. Larry always had a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, and was a good father and friend.
Per his wishes, cremation was chosen with no services. In honor of Larry, visit your favorite watering hole and have a beer to toast in his memory. Mattox-Wood Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at:
