Kent Larry Came, 60, of Terre Haute, peacefully passed away June 14, 2017, comfortably at home, following an extended illness, with his family by his side.
Kent was born Aug. 1, 1956, in Terre Haute, the son of Robert Came and the late Patricia (Miller) Came. He graduated from Terre Haute South High School in 1974. Kent then attended electrician trade school through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 725. He eventually retired from the IBEW Local Union 725. Kent married the love of his life, Jessica Newton, on Nov.18, 2012. He was a wonderful husband and father to Jessica and her daughter.
He was a member of the Riley Masonic Lodge 390, Terre Haute Zorah Shriners, National Rifle Association, and the IBEW Local Union 725. Kent enjoyed fishing, especially on his annual Canada fishing trip. He also enjoyed tinkering with different equipment in his shop, restoring old farm equipment, watching NASCAR (especially cheering for Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr.), flying private airplanes, hunting bears and raccoons, riding four wheelers, running any equipment on the farm, and he loved to be in the garden. He took great pride in his tomato plants that he could grow to be as tall as he was. Kent thought of everyone else before himself and would always lend a helping hand to someone in need. He was an animal lover, especially to his dogs, Rocky and KC.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his aunt, Eleanor Lowdermilk.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica Came; daughter, Julia Sue Jones (Joshua Brainard); grandson, Lucas Brainard; father, Robert Came; brothers, Todd (Jan) Came and Mark (Anne) Came; sister, Debbie (Ron) Miller; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Money; sibling in-laws, Bill Newton, Robert Newton, Patricia Phillips, Teresa (Bob) Henderson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
