Kenny R. Barnhart


Kenneth "Kenny" R. Barnhart, 53, of Coal City, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019, in University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on October 14, 1965, in Phoenix, Ariz., the son of Larry Joe Barnhart and Gayle (Dyer) Barnhart.
Kenny was a concrete finisher for most of his life with Barnhart Concrete and was a member of the Concrete Finisher and Plasterers' Local #692. He was a 1983 graduate of Gibson Southern High School in Fort Branch, Ind. Kenny loved to work on lawn mowers and helped at Horn Mower Shop in Clay City. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father and biological mother, Larry and Gayle Barnhart; and a granddaughter, Marlie Barnhart.
Survivors include his loving wife, Amanda Horn-Barnhart; his mother, Kathleen Barnhart; his children, Jennifer Barnhart, Adam Barnhart, Samantha West, Max West and Elijah Barnhart; his siblings, Patricia Long, Robert Sparks, Kathy Sparks, James Sparks (Sandra), Thomas Sparks and Donna Cooper (Jeff); grandchildren, Osiris Zaldivar, N'Kara Zaldivar and Callihan Barnhart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019, in Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E. 8th Street, Clay City, with Pastor Jeff Burns officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow. To light a candle in his memory, visit:
