Kay A. Whitley, 78, of Sullivan, and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:23 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, in Terre Haute Union Hospital. She was born in Hickory, N.C., on Nov. 7, 1938, to Frank Alexander and Hazel Abee Alexander.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanne Norris (husband Chris); her son, Scott Whitley (wife Dianna); her grandchildren, Olivia Norris, Isabella Norris, Justin Whitley (wife Sara), Jeremy Whitley and Katie Whitley; as well as two great-grandsons, Eli Whitley and Jackson Whitley.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Whitley in 2008.
Her memberships include the Seelyville United Methodist church, where she sang in the church choir, and the Vigo County Choral Extension Club for 23 years, and with them won several awards decorating various banks at Christmas.
Funeral services will be at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. with Terry Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
