Juanita Louise Tryon (Wolfe) of Crown Point, Ind., and formerly of Terre Haute and Evansville, went home to be with the her Lord on Feb. 6, 2018. She was born in Dugger, Aug. 20, 1920, to Ora and Ann Deckard Wolfe. She married Floyd Tryon on March 28, 1942.
They lived in Terre Haute, for 40 years and raised three children in the same house on North Sixth Street. In 1968 she went to work for the Terre Haute Star newspaper as the women's page editor and food editor. When she retired in 1981, she moved to Evansville, to help manage her husband's company, Clean Air of Evansville.
In 2017, at 96 years old, she published "A Legacy of Love," a family history about growing up during the Depression era. An active member of Bethel Church, Crown Point, she was lifelong Christian and a service leader for various community programs. She lived an exemplary life of service, teaching her children and grandchildren by her example.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Eva; four brothers, Dale, Jim, Max and Robert; and a great-granddaughter, Ana Hick.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Johnson of Columbus, Ind.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Wolfe of Cromwell, Conn., and Marge Shirley of Marshall, Ill.; her three children, Susan McMurray, Sulphur Springs, Texas, James and Janice Kosiba, Crown Point, and Michael and Cathy Tryon, Crystal Lake, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She had a listening ear and loving heart for everyone who knew her. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and role model.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Geisen Funeral, Cremation and Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Bethel Church, 10202 Broadway, Crown Point, with Pastor Steve DeWitt officiating.
Interment will take place Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Roselawn Memorial Park, 7500 N. Clinton St., Terre Haute. Friends may visit with family at Roselawn Chapel from 10:30 a.m. until time of interment 11:30 a.m.
