Joybelle H. Jean, of Bloomington, passed away on Feb. 5, 2018. She was born Sept. 13, 1932, to Daniel L. Meyer and Katherine Greenwell Meyer, of Clay City.
After raising their family in Terre Haute, "Joy" and "Jim" retired to Florida and later moved to Bloomington.
She leaves behind daughter, Jorja K. Jean of Virginia Beach, Va.; son, James L. Jean of Brown County; son-in-law, David Barnett of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Kate, Megan, Benjamin and Daniel Jean; and a circle of devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James W. Jean; and her daughter, Kimberly Barnett.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1503 West That Road, Bloomington.
Another celebration of life service will be held at a later date to be announced in Terre Haute, with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church or the SPCA.
