Joseph E. Tindal, 73, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Joe was born on Nov. 22, 1943, in Bedford, to Henry Tindal and Bernice Wallace Tindal.
Joe was retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Terre Haute as a budget analyst. Joe owned and operated Home Plate Sports, Cards and Collectibles which operated in The Meadows Mall as well as festivals in the area for many years. Joe was an avid Chicago Cubs, Indiana University Sports and Colts fan. Joe had a beautiful singing voice and was an accomplished pianist.
Joe was a veteran of the United States Army being stationed at Fort Hood during his time in the service. After retirement Joe worked at Putt Putt Golf and Games, while working there he met his wife, Jane Harmon Tindal, who he proposed to by way of billboard.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Edward Tindal; and a stepson, Timothy Iaron Moneyhun.
Joe is survived by his wife, Jane Harmon Tindal of Terre Haute; two sons, Vince Tindal and his wife Amber of Dallas and Steven Tindal and his wife Sarah of Terre Haute; one daughter, Debbie Tindal of Terre Haute; and a stepdaughter, Stacia L. Fridley of Washington, D.C. He also is survived by a sister, Judy Tindal Moss of Kentucky; his former wife, Linda Tindal Griffin; and grandchildren, Adam Fridley, Vinny Tindal, Evan Tindal, Maddux Tindal, Ava Tindal, Austin Tindal and Brayden Tindal.
Services are Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., Terre Haute. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time.
