John A. Thompson, 75, of Terre Haute, passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, in his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Terre Haute on June 28, 1942, to Joseph Thompson and Anna Watt Thompson. John was a 1960 graduate of Honey Creek High School, and was owner of Springhill Frame, Inc. as well as being a driver for the Trash Man.
He is survived by two children, Rebecca Thompson Mullen and Jeffrey John Thompson. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Genevieve Gayle Mullen and Olivia Grace Mullen; and his former spouse and good friend, Brenda Church. John was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Joseph Charles Thompson.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen with a celebration of life service to be held at Shelter "A" at Fowler Park on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, from 3 to 7 p.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Ken Spicklemire and the staff at VNA Hospice of the Wabash Valley for the excellent care and compassion given to John.
