Jennie Mae Hinkle, 102, of Geneva, died at 6:04 p.m. Oct. 24, 2017, in Union Hospital Clinton. She was born Dec. 19, 1914, in Clinton, to Lige West and Goldie Barton West.
She had worked at Vermillion County Hospital in the laundry department and Clinton Garment Factory. She was an avid bingo player, was a member of the Turner Coach Travel Club, loved to crochet, and loved to bake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lec Hinkle; two brothers, William West and Dave and Celia West; sister, Naomi and John Barcus; a son, James Hinkle; a daughter, Lillian Tolley; a granddaughter Susan Tolley Oaks; and two great-granddaughters, Chastity and Charity Kelley.
She is survived by two sons, Dave and Sue Hinkle of Clinton and William "Bill" and Karen Hinkle of Geneva; nine grandchildren, Jimmy Tolley, Brenda Kelley, Karen Baysinger, Steve Hinkle, Kris Rice, Lee Anne Chilton, Toni Upp, Tonna Logan, and Terri Webber; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Ginger.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Frist Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at:
