BOWLING GREEN - Jay Alan Swalley, 61, of Bowling Green, passed away at home, June 4, 2017, following an extended illness. Jay was born Feb. 4, 1956, in Belton, Texas, the son of Roy K. and Erma (Schlegel) Swalley.
Jay worked at Allison's Machine in Indianapolis. After moving back to Bowling Green, Jay owned and operated Quality Contracting and Fabrications, building steel buildings and performing maintenance for Great Dane Trailers.
Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Erma Swalley.
Survivors include his father, Roy K. Swalley of Plainfield; his wife, Heather Swalley of Bowling Green; five children, Ashley Albers and husband Nathan of Florida, Erin Toothman and husband Zach of Avon, Jayme Swalley of Florida, Danni Wallace (Austin Brown) of Carbon, and Bradly Wallace of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Laila Belle Albers and Preston Julius Albers of Florida; siblings, Glenda Pate and husband Mike of Plainfield, Von Swalley and wife Debbie of Carmel, Kara Swalley of Plainfield and Ken Swalley of Plainfield; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.
