James L. Turner, 81, of Terre Haute, and formerly of Rosedale and Clinton, died at 11:47 a.m. June 30, 2017, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born Sept. 28, 1935, in Terre Haute, to Paul Turner and Rosetta James Turner. He was married July 17, 1965, to Virginia A. Zamberletti Giovanini Turner.
He was employed by State of Indiana Department of Revenue and former owner of Zamberletti's at the Castle Restaurant in Clinton. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Clinton and a Korean War, U.S. Navy veteran and Navy Reserve for 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Virginia Turner (March 30, 2005).
Survivors include daughter, Lisa Wilson and her husband Shawn of Terre Haute; stepson, Michael Giovanini and his wife Sue of Clinton; stepdaughter, Adele Fossi and her husband Ernie of Clinton; grandchildren, Chris Barnes, Jamie Southard and Michael Giovanini Jr.; several great-grandchildren, and special friend, Lillie Mae.
Prayer service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, Giovanini Funeral Home, followed by mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Sacred Heart Church, Clinton, with Father Varghese Maliakkal officiating. Entombment will be at Roselawn Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
