Jack Leon Sears, 84, of Sullivan, Indiana, passed away at his home on Jan. 4, 2018.
Jack was born Feb. 9, 1933, in Vigo County, Indiana, the son of Albert and Julia Elizabeth (Smith) Sears. Jack graduated from Garfield High School with the class of 1951. Jack served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1954. As a civilian he worked for Union Hospital as maintenance supervisor. He retired in 1994 after many years of service.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, working on cars and spending time with his family.
He is survived by four children, Jack "Sonny" Sears of Sullivan, Gary L. "Skip" Sears (Pam) of Sullivan, Tiffany Sears (Joe Dupin) of West Terre Haute and William Sears of Sullivan; and siblings, Robert Sears, Joe Sears, Richard Sears and Kenneth Sears; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Julia Sears; his wife, Mary Sears; and a brother, Eugene Sears.
