Jack Dean Miller, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away from this life Sept. 2, 2017. He was born to Troy and Flossie (Gambill) Miller, on Jan. 10, 1926.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Charlotte (Snow) Miller; son, Donald R. Miller (Jayne); daughter, Sondra Wright (Paul); granddaughter, Azure West (Jason); four great-grandchildren, Austin, Lundyn, Ripley, and Mira; sisters-in-law, Catherine Miller and Mary Engberg; brother-in-law, Charles Snow; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Carl Warren; and son, Ronald D. Miller.
Jack graduated from Otter Creek High School in 1944. He went on to serve in the United States Army during World War 2. He was a staff sargent and platoon leader.
He was employed at Bledsoe Coal Company. He owned a general contracting business, building custom houses, pools, and owned Superior Fence Company. Jack built Collett Apartments, North US HWY 41 and Florida Avenue. He owned and operated the apartments until ill health, causing the sale of the apartments. He was a long time member of Maplewood Christian Church, serving in many capacities and the Sunshine Center. He also held membership with the Apartment Association, Cadillac and LaSalle Club, and Antique and Classic Car Club.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at 6 p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, Ind. 47804. Craig Winegar and Mark Miller will speak during services. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 4 p.m. until service time.
