CLINTON - Iona Elois (Hargis) Guinn, 82, Clinton, went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017. She was born on Dec. 21, 1934, to Everett and Ella (French) Hargis, in Somerset, Ky.
She had two brothers, Glen (deceased) (Margie) (deceased) (Bernice) (deceased) Hargis, and Bill (deceased) (Anna Belle) Hargis and one sister, Imogene (Jerry Tiller).
She married the love of her life, Gale Guinn Sr., on July 14, 1951, and they were married 50 years when God called him home.
They had five children, Gale (Patty), George (Shirley), Ron (Vonda-deceased) (Mary), John (Marsha), and Mary (Owen Rolle).
Elois loved her family and made time daily to pray for each and every of them. Not only did she love her family, she loved her church family. She was a member of Lyford Bible Baptist Church. Over the years she had the privilege of working with her husband in the churches he pastored. She taught Sunday school and in the Christian schools and any other "jobs" she was needed to fill in and do. She loved her church families and would do anything for them. She loved having her family and friends around.
She is survived by her children (listed above); grandchildren, Rob (Mandy), Dan (Erica), Crystal (Mitch Petty), Tracy (Eric Cooney), Jim (Debbie), Amy (Daniel Foltz), Troy (Kristina), Brian (Melanie), Breanne (Larry Stone), Jordan (Cameron Wheeler), Jessica Berger, Amanda (Keith Lohse); 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; one sister (listed above); brothers-in-law, Wayne (Linda) and Richard (Paula); three sisters-in-law, Bernice Hargis, Anna Belle (Hargis) Hoopingardner and Marilyn (Nick Ford); and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Vonda; brothers, Glen and Bill; sister-in-law, Margie; her in-laws, Opal Petty Guinn and George (Hester) Guinn.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Frist Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Coombs officiating. Burial will be at Pleasantview Cemetery in Tecumseh,
