BRAZIL - Inez E. Galbraith, 92, of Brazil, passed away at home, July 3, 2017, following a brief illness, while surrounded by her family. She was born in Clay County, on Dec. 3, 1924, the daughter of Robert and Essie (Harrell) Galbraith.
She graduated from Staunton High School. During World War II she worked at a factory in Kokomo. She returned to Brazil and worked for Columbia House Records for 30 years. After retiring at 62 years from CBS she went to work at Double N Diner for several years and retired at 82 years old.
In her free time she enjoyed playing Bingo, watching Chicago Cubs baseball, working puzzles, mushroom hunting, bird watching and cooking delicious meals for her family.
She was preceded in death by her nine siblings, Ruel Galbraith, Rex Galbraith, Marvin Galbraith, Robert Galbraith, Wayne Galbraith, Iris Wood, Ruth Clossin, Illajean Rogers and Helen Rogers; a granddaughter-in-law, Rita Kay Cook-Pierce.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Pierce of Brazil; two grandsons, Doug Pierce (Freddie) of Brazil, and Kevin Pierce (Bonnie) of Brazil; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Douglas II, Brandon, Christopher, Mitch, Hannah and Taylor; great-great-grandchildren, Riley, Allie, Paisley and Noah; as well many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, on Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home, Saturday, at 1 p.m., with burial to follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. To light candle in her memory visit: www.frenchfuneralhome.com
