Inez Joan (Wampler) Sims Blackwell VENICE, Fla. Inez Joan (Wampler) Sims Blackwell, 88, of Venice, Fla., and formerly of Jasonville, Ind., passed away at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, in Venice Regional Bayfront Hospital in Sarasota County, Fla.
She was born July 19, 1930, in Bloomington, Ind., to Dallas Wampler and Helen (Harrington) Wampler.
Survivors include her children, Steven Sims (Sheila) of Carmel, Ind., Keith Sims of Bloomington, Ind., Judy Reynolds (Chris) of Jasonville, Ind., Paul Sims (Jill) of West Terre Haute, Ind.; stepchildren, Enoch Blackwell of Blackwell, Penn., Linda Peele (John) of Phoenix, Ariz., Wayne Blackwell (Jane) of Chenango, N.Y., Lisa Beausoleil (Kevin) of Severn, Md.; grandchildren, Chris Sims (Jody), Jeremy Sims, Matt Sims, Megan Willis (Patrick), Jay Sims (Rebekah), Kayla Lucas, Jessica Dowell (Matt), Jaclyn Terrell (Eric), Jennifer Barcus (Eric), Levi Sims, Nicholas Lockard, Lucas Lockard; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Truman Sims; second husband, Enoch Blackwell; and brother, Dallas Wampler Jr.
Joan graduated from the Bicknell High School Class of 1948. She had worked as an operator at the Bicknell Telephone Office and was librarian for several years at Shakamak Elementary. She is a member of the Shakamak Community Church, Jasonville Tri Kappa and Lewis O.E.S.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 S. Meridian St., Jasonville, Ind. Cremation was chosen. A gathering of friends is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Memorial services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Cox Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Rotman officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora, Ind.
