Imogene's Story

Imogene G. "Jeanie" Jones, 88, of Terre Haute passed away at 2:42 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, in Union Hospital at Terre Haute. She was born May 30, 1929, at Terre Haute.
Survivors include four daughters, Joannie Hill and her husband James, Kathleen Mitchell, Elizabeth Garland, and Robin Oldham Cucurullo and her husband Chester Kauffman; 11 grandchildren, Jimmy, John, and Jason Hill, Julie Brand, Kristi Wilson, Greg Porter, Brian Mitchell, Lisa Davis, Nicholas Garland, Bernadette Cruz, and Elizabeth Cucurullo; 11 great- grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her foster mother, Gertrude Alexander; her mother, Frances Reynolds; her father, Charles Cox; two daughters, Jeanne Wilson and Charlene Felton; a son-in-law, Dennis Garland; a grandson, James Waller; and a granddaughter, Angela Jones.
Jeanie was a compassionate woman who cared for many individuals in her life. She always had a story to tell, and you may have been part of the story. She loved working puzzles, playing bingo, visiting the ocean, going out to eat, socializing and being with her family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating. Cremation has been scheduled after services. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and prior to services Thursday.
