Greg H. Bissinger

Greg H. Bissinger, 63, of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 5, 1955, in Mishawaka, Indiana to Herbert A. and Barbara J. (Markham) Bissinger. He married Deborah Lynn Riggs on August 27, 1973.
Greg is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 46 years, Debbie Bissinger of Terre Haute; two sons, Christopher Aaron "Kit" Bissinger (Jessica Brown) and Benjamin "Simon" Bissinger (Jessie Briggs); adopted granddaughters, Lauren Marie and Alyssa Lynn Bissinger; grandchildren Austin Mace, Kayla Bissinger, Kaden Bissinger, Elizabeth, Nicole, and Christopher Desabrais, and Billiegail Brown; a sister, Ann Dugan (Rick); sisters-in-law, Bev McConnell and Terri Fox (Ron); brother-in-law, Greg Riggs; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mark Bissinger; stillborn sister, Beth Bissinger; and special cousin, Joyce Bonen.
Greg graduated from Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan with a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering. He worked for over 20 years as an engineer at Dalex. Greg enjoyed gardening and mushroom hunting. He enjoyed relaxing with a cold beer and watching old westerns and sci-fi. Greg also liked to go spend time at his cabin in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He was an excellent cook and especially liked to grill and smoke food. Greg was known for his dry and sometimes dark sense of humor and quick wit, a trait he passed on to his children. His family was everything to him, he cherished them always, and he will be deeply missed.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Bernie Jackson officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Greg will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at

I worked with Greg for several years and always enjoyed his wit and humor. It was a pleasure to speak with and laugh with him most every day. One man that is and will always be missed. Rest easy my friend.
