UNIVERSAL - George "Jeep" Padish Jr., 75, of Universal, passed away at 5:42 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute. He was born May 9, 1943, in Gary, to George Padish Sr. and Virginia Melton Padish. He retired from Cinergy, and worked for Milwaukee Railroad.
He was a member of Free & Accepted Masonic Lodge 687 in West Terre Haute, Universal Young Men's Club, also the former chief of the Universal Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed Golf, "Bistecca" and loved to cook, can, garden, and trying new recipes, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was married June 1, 1968, to Martha A. Scarbrough, and they celebrated their 50th Anniversary earlier this year.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Doyle (2014), and an infant son.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; son, George Padish III of Clinton; three daughters, Charlotte (John) Roberts of Saginaw, Mich., Virginia Lee Ann (Jim) Hrovat of Paris, Ill., and Julie (Bob) Dixon of Dana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Randy (Terry) of Clinton.
In accordance to George's wishes cremation was chosen with no services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Parke-Vermillion Humane Society,
