BRAZIL - Frederick Joseph Haggart, 63, of Brazil, passed away at home, on June 15, 2017, following a valiant battle with cancer.
Fred was born Aug.14, 1953, in Clay County, the son of James and Martha Jane (Smith) Haggart. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1971. Fred worked at CBS in Terre Haute and retired from Ivy Hill in 2015.
Fred was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Wabash Valley Motorcycle Club and the Linton Masonic Lodge 560
In his free time he enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, and collecting old vehicles.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, James and Martha Haggart.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Sue (Stauffer) Haggart, whom he married on June 19, 1992; children, Erica Piazza of Terre Haute, Crystal Compton and husband Amos of Seelyville, and Joseph Haggart of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Trevor Ley, Caris Haggart, Arlen Compton, Elias Haggart and Kayla Haggart; three siblings, James Haggart of Clay County, Mary Ann McKenzie and husband Steve of Brazil, and Janis Boyce and husband Jerry of Florida; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be at Lawson - Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Ind. 47834, on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home, Saturday, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Steven Blaydes officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
